What is liquid waste disposal?General
Liquid waste disposal is the compliant collection, treatment and reclamation of non-hazardous liquid waste such as drilling mud, NDD waste, potholing slurry, hydro-excavation waste and concrete washout. Demast processes these at our EPA-licensed Smithfield facility and recycles them into reusable sand and aggregate.
Is Demast EPA licensed?General
Yes. Demast operates under NSW Environment Protection Licence number 20875 and handles all waste in line with the relevant safety and environmental regulations.
What areas of Sydney does Demast service?General
We service Greater Sydney and Western Sydney from our Smithfield facility. Approximate drive times are Parramatta 15 minutes, Blacktown 18 minutes, Bankstown 25 minutes and the Sydney CBD 30 minutes.
What are Demast's opening hours?General
Our Liquid Waste Disposal Centre is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
What liquid waste does Demast accept?Disposal
We accept drilling mud, non-destructive digging (NDD) and potholing waste, hydro-excavation and bentonite slurry, concrete washout, and pit and sump waste.
What liquid waste can't Demast accept?Disposal
We cannot accept hazardous chemicals, asbestos, fuels, oils and hydrocarbons, solvents and paints, food or putrescible waste, or medical and clinical waste. If you are unsure about your waste, contact our team.
How much does liquid waste disposal cost?Disposal

What is a Mud-Bin?Mud-Bins
A Mud-Bin is an on-site liquid waste bin Demast delivers to your site. You tip liquid waste straight into it, then we collect it with our hook lift trucks and dispose of the waste compliantly at our facility.
How do Mud-Bins work?Mud-Bins
We deliver a Mud-Bin to your site, you fill it as you work, and when it is full we collect it and swap in a replacement if needed. This removes the need to run vac trucks back and forth to a facility.
How do I hire a Mud-Bin in Sydney?Mud-Bins
Call Demast or request a quote with your waste type, volume and site location. We schedule delivery and collect the bin when full, right across Greater Sydney.
What do Demast's hook lift trucks do?Hook Lift
Our hook lift fleet delivers empty bins, collects full bins, swaps bins for continuous capacity, and transports liquid waste to our EPA-licensed facility for compliant disposal.
Do you deliver and collect bins across Sydney?Hook Lift
Yes. From our central Smithfield base we deliver, collect and transport bins across Greater Sydney and Western Sydney, with scheduled and on-call pickups.
Where is the disposal centre and what are the hours?Centre
The Demast Liquid Waste Disposal Centre is at 7 Long Street, Smithfield NSW 2164, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How does drop-off work?Centre
Drive onto the automated weighbridge to weigh in, tip at one of four tipping bays, then weigh out. The automated recording system calculates your net load and turnaround is fast so you can get back on the road.
Do I need an account to drop off liquid waste?Centre
Setting up an account is quick and easy. Contact our team before your first visit and we will set you up and show you how to use the facility when you arrive.
What recycled products does Demast supply?Products
We supply recycled sand and 10mm and 20mm recycled aggregate, reclaimed from liquid waste and suitable for a range of civil and construction uses across Sydney.
What can recycled sand and aggregate be used for?Products
Recycled sand and aggregate can be used for backfill and general fill, pipe and trench bedding, drainage material, site works and landscaping. Contact us to confirm the right product for your application.
How do I buy recycled products in Sydney?Products
Contact Demast with the product and quantity you need and we will advise on availability, pricing and collection from our Smithfield facility.
